Was the Interior Lights Dimming System Check performed?

  1. Ensure that the turn signal lamps are operable.
  2. Place the headlamp switch in the park lamps position.
  3. Observe that the parking lamps operate.
  4. Adjust the instrument panel (IP) dimmer switch thumbwheel to a mid-range position.
  5. Disconnect the connector at the instrument cluster.
  6. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the instrument cluster connector, cavity A8 for CKT 8 (GRY), and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 8 (GRY) between splice S223 and the instrument cluster.

Do the IP lamps dim?

Connect a J 39200 DMM between the instrument cluster connector, cavity B1 for CKT 150 (BLK), and ground.

Is continuity present?

Replace the instrument cluster.

Do the IP lamps dim?

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between ground G201 and the instrument cluster.
