Coolant Heater Cord Replacement Except 6.5L Diesel

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 313014  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt (2) retaining the cord clip (3) to the bracket (1).
  4. Remove the cord clip (3) from the bracket (1).
  5. Remove the bolt (2) retaining the bracket (1) to the engine block.
  6. Remove the bracket (1) from the engine block.

  7. Object Number: 313004  Size: SH
  8. Remove the cord (6) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Do not touch the heater cord to the following areas:

       • The engine
       • Hot pipes
       • The manifold
       • Any moving parts

  1. Install the cord (6) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bracket to the engine block.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the bolt retaining the bracket to the engine block.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  6. Install the cord clip (3) to the bracket (1).
  7. Install the bolt (2) retaining the cord clip (3) to the bracket (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  9. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

Coolant Heater Cord Replacement 6.5L Diesel

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 313021  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt (5) retaining the cord clip (6) to the bracket (2).
  4. Remove the cord clip (6) from the bracket (2).
  5. Remove the bolt (5) retaining the bracket (2) to the engine block.
  6. Remove the bracket (2) from the engine block.

  7. Object Number: 313004  Size: SH
  8. Remove the cord (6) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Tighten the bolt retaining the engine coolant heater cord bracket to the engine to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  6. Install the cord clip (6) to the bracket (2).
  7. Install the bolt (5) retaining the cord clip (6) to the bracket (2).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt retaining the engine coolant heater cord clip to the bracket to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  9. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
