1. Clean the cassette tape player with a non-abrasive cleaning cassette per the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Perform one of the following procedures:

•	Perform the radio speaker diagnostics with a J 9916 Speaker Diagnostic Test Tape Kit (if available).

•	Play a good selection from a known good cassette tape. Time the selection.

3. Compare the audio quality and time with the same tape in a known good player.

Is the selection time for the complaint tape player between 1 second/minute faster and 2 seconds/minute slower, when compared to the known good tape player?

Cassette tape player is operating properly.

Advise customer of proper cleaning procedures and intervals.

Was cause of problem described to the customer?

Send the radio in for repair of the cassette tape player.

Refer to Radio Replacement .

Is the repair complete?
