1

  1. Place the ignition switch in RUN.
  2. Compare the radio's reception of a weak station to that of a known good radio.
  3. Ensure that both vehicles are positioned equivalently in order to equalize the possible differences in the noise or the reception levels.
  4. After the comparisons are made, turn OFF the radios.

Is the radio radio's reception equivalent to the known good radio with no significant difference in noise levels?

2

  1. Disconnect the radio antenna lead-in wire at the radio.
  2. Connect a pre-zeroed ohmmeter J 39200 between the coax (outer) conductor of the radio antenna lead-in wire and ground.

Is the antenna resistance to ground equal to or greater than the specified value?

0.15 ohms
