Preliminary Inspection

Before you begin a diagnosis, visually inspect for the following conditions and repair if needed:

    • Verify that the fuse is not open. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
    • Verify that the electrical system has no bare, broken, or disconnected wires.
    • Verify that the cruise control cable is not binding.
    • Verify that the cruise control cable is adjusted properly.
    • Verify that the stoplamp switch is not damaged.
    • Verify that the stoplamp switch is positioned properly.

If a preliminary inspection reveals no condition, refer to Cruise Control Functional Check .
