Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 280269  Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument panel extension. Refer to Instrument Panel Extension Replacement in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  2. Remove the floor air outlet duct from the air distributor.
  3. Remove the bucket seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
  4. Remove the front section of the carpet if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Mat/Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.

  5. Object Number: 280407  Size: SH
  6. Remove the nuts that retain the outlet duct to the floor (if equipped).
  7. Remove the floor air outlet from the ducts to the rear seat (if equipped).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the floor air outlet to the ducts to the rear seat (if equipped).

  2. Object Number: 280269  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts that retain the outlet duct to the floor (if equipped).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts that retain the outlet duct to the floor (if equipped) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the front section of the carpet (if equipped). Refer to Front Floor Mat/Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the bucket seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
  7. Remove the floor air outlet duct from the air distributor.
  8. Install the instrument panel extension. Refer to Instrument Panel Extension Replacement in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
