Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 280274  Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the retaining screw from the left edge of the heater control assembly.
  3. Pivot the heater control assembly from the instrument panel.
  4. Pull the heater control assembly out of the instrument panel in order to access the vacuum and the electrical connectors.

  6. Remove the following items from the heater control assembly:
  7. • The electrical connectors
    • The vacuum connectors

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the following items to the control assembly:
  2. • The vacuum connectors
    • The electrical connectors

    Object Number: 280274  Size: SH
  3. Align the tab on the heater control assembly with the slot in the instrument panel.
  4. Pivot the heater control assembly into the instrument panel.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the screw in order to retain the left edge of the heater control assembly.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screw in order to retain the left edge of the heater control assembly to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the instrument cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
