Using a scan tool ensure that the vehicle control module (VCM) is correctly calibrated for the axle ratio and the tire size.

  1. Perform a test drive over a known distance.
  2. The distance should be 8 km (5 mi) or more.
  3. Use a scan tool in order to compare the indicated speed to the speedometer indication while at speed.
  4. Record the initial and the final odometer readings and the actual distance driven

While at 88 KPH (55MPH), are the scan tool and the speedometer indicators discrepant by more than the specified value?
