NEW OIL PRESSURE PLUG USAGE THM 700-R4 SERVICE

BEGINNING OCT. 12, 1982 ALL THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSIONS WERE BUILT WITH A NEW OIL PRESSURE PLUG IN THREE LOCATIONS. SEE FIGURE 1. THE PAST OIL PRESSURE PLUG WILL STILL BE USED AT THE LINE PRESSURE TAP LOCATION. THE NEW OIL PRESSURE PLUG WILL BE USED AT THE 2ND CLUTCH, 3RD CLUTCH, AND 4TH CLUTCH PRESSURE TAP LOCATIONS. SEE FIGURE 2. TO INSTALL THESE OIL PRESSURE PLUGS, APPLY THREAD SEALANT ON THE PLUG AND TORQUE AS FOLLOWS: TORQUE PAST OIL PRESSURE PLUG TO 11 N.M (8 FT. LBS.) TORQUE NEW OIL PRESSURE PLUG TO 24 N.M (18 FT. LBS.)
