Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 211436  Size: SH
  1. If equipped with the 2.2L, remove the air intake duct assembly:
  2. 1.1. Loosen the air intake duct clamps.
    1.2. Remove the air intake duct push pins.
    1.3. Remove the air intake duct assembly (1) from the fan shroud (3).

  3. Remove the upper fan shroud bolts.

  4. Object Number: 395858  Size: SH
  5. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the lower fan shroud.
  6. Remove the upper fan shroud.

  7. Object Number: 382732  Size: SH
  8. Lift the lower fan shroud just enough to disengage the locating tabs from the radiator.
  9. Remove the lower fan shroud from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 382732  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower fan shroud in the vehicle.
  2. 1.1. Position the lower fan shroud against the radiator.
    1.2. Engage the locating tabs by pushing down on the fan shroud.

  3. Install the upper fan shroud.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the upper fan shroud bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the lower fan shroud.

  8. Object Number: 211436  Size: SH
  9. If equipped with the 2.2L, install the air intake duct assembly:
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the intake air duct clamps 5 N·m (44 lb in)

  11. Install the push pins (2) .
