REAR FOLDING SEAT OPERATION LOCKED POSITION MOVEMENT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: ALL S/T BLAZER/JIMMY MODELS

Future editions of 1987 S/T Blazer/Jimmy Owner's Manuals will be revised regarding rear folding seat movement in the locked position. This revision also applies to 1983-1986 S/T Blazer/Jimmy models equipped with the rear folding seat. The revised text reads as follows:

REAR FOLDING SEAT (BLAZER/,JIMMY)

The optional rear seat may be folded to provide additional cargo space.

To fold the seat, push back on the seatback while releasing the mechanical latch located at the rear of the seat cushion (see Figure #1). Press the release lever and hold, then pull seatback down. The seat is designed to lie completely flat.

To raise seat, place hand on the "B" pillar post of the vehicle, then with your other hand, push up on the seatback.

Push back and forth now and then on any folding rear seatback to be sure it is locked. Take the vehicle to your dealer for service if it does not lock.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
