Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 112  Size: SH
  1. Release the park brake, if applied.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Loosen the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
  4. Remove the park brake release handle.

  5. Object Number: 114  Size: SH
  6. Press the retaining tabs in on the front park brake cable.
  7. Remove the front park brake cable from the park brake pedal.

  8. Object Number: 177269  Size: SH
  9. Remove the park brake pedal mounting bolts.
  10. Remove the park brake pedal assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 177269  Size: SH
  1. Install the brake pedal assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the park brake pedal mounting bolts and the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the park brake pedal retaining bolts and the nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the park brake cable to the brake pedal assembly.
  6. Important: Ensure that the brake cable retainer are expanded and are locked in the park brake pedal bracket

  7. Install the front brake cable to the park brake pedal assembly.

  8. Object Number: 112  Size: SH
  9. Install the brake release handle.
  10. Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
  11. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
