Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

  2. Object Number: 293817  Size: SH
  3. Remove the instrument panel sound insulator (right side only). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  4. Object Number: 293813  Size: SH
  5. Remove the instrument panel sound insulator (left side only). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  6. Reach up and disconnect the electrical connector.
  7. Squeeze the locking tabs in order to remove the door jamb switch from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the door jamb switch to the vehicle. Fully seat the locking tabs.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the switch.

  3. Object Number: 293817  Size: SH
  4. Install the instrument panel sound insulator (right side only). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  5. Object Number: 293813  Size: SH
  6. Install the instrument panel sound insulator (left side only). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  7. Connect the battery negative cable.
