Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 4944 Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the ash tray housing. Refer to Ashtray Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Open the ash tray and remove the liner.
  4. Remove the bulb and socket assembly from the ash tray housing.
  5. Remove the bulb from the socket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 4944 Size: SH
  1. Install the bulb to the socket.
  2. Install the bulb and socket assembly to the ash tray housing.
  3. Install the ash tray liner.
  4. Install the ashtray housing to the instrument panel. Refer to Ashtray Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  5. Connect the battery negative cable.
