Verify that the tail lamps are inoperative.

Do the tail lamps operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Inspect the inoperative bulb and socket for the following:

    • An open filament
    • Shorted terminals
    • Poor terminal contact

Was a problem found?

Go to Step 9

Inspect LR PARK and RR PARK fuses in underhood fuse block.

Are the fuses good?

Go to Step 5

Test for an open or high resistance in the inoperative rear park lamps supply voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Was a problem found?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Repair the short to ground in the inoperative rear park lamps supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open or high resistance in the inoperative rear park lamps supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open or high resistance in the ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative bulb or socket.
