When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

Vehicle will not start after sitting over 24 hours, and/or the rear tailgate glass is inoperative, headlamps remain on, the cruise control fuse is open or there is a fluctuation in battery voltage.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Inspect for fluctuation in battery voltage and inspect for damaged and/or pinched wires in the heated, power, and memory seat harness. The harness may have one or more circuits that are damaged or pinched under the driver and/or passenger seats. If the wires are damaged, it can lead to open fuses, circuit breakers, and or battery discharge.

These wires are present on all utilities and crew cabs, regardless of whether or not the vehicle is equipped with the memory or heated seat option.

To correct these conditions, repair damaged wires and replace any open circuit breakers or fuses.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
