CORE INFORMATION TAG REMANUFACTURED GENERATOR

MODELS: 1987 S/T, RN, M, G AND P MODEL TRUCKS

The CS-130 series generator was introduced on 1986 S, T and M model trucks. (Reference GMC Bulletin 86-B-59 dated March, 1986). In 1987 the CS-130 series generator will also be used on R, V, G and P model trucks. To aid in the analysis of field returned parts, Delco-Remy will continue the exchange only program until further notice.

A core information tag will be attached to each exchange unit. (See Figure No. 1.) The dealer technician is to fill out this tag completely and accurately for each failed unit retumed. Suspect generators are to be returned to GMSPO for credit; otherwise, a core charge will result.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
