Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

  2. Object Number: 334315  Size: SH
  3. Lift up the left outboard cowl vent grille trim piece in order to release the clips to the left outboard cowl vent grille trim piece.
  4. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  5. Remove the left hood spring assembly. Refer to Hood Link Replacement .

  7. Remove the left fender to cowl support brace.

  8. Object Number: 401869  Size: SH
  9. Remove the wheelhouse panel bracket.
  10. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .

  11. Object Number: 349786  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the clips.

  13. Object Number: 369708  Size: SH
  14. Disconnect the windshield washer hose from the clips on the fender.
  15. Remove the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .

  16. Object Number: 401885  Size: SH
  17. Remove the push-in retainers (2) in order to detach the wheelhouse panel (1) from the fender (3).

  18. Object Number: 401888  Size: SH
  19. Remove the fender to upper cowl bracket bolt.
  20. Open the door.

  22. Remove the fender to door hinge bolts.

  23. Object Number: 370264  Size: SH
  24. Release the left front grille clip from the fender.

  25. Object Number: 349817  Size: SH
  26. Remove the fender to radiator support bolts and retainer.

  28. Remove the rear lower fender bolt.
  29. Remove the left fender from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the fender to vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 401886  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear lower fender bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear lower fender bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the fender to radiator support bolts and retainer.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the radiator support bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Connect the left front grille clip to the fender.

  8. Object Number: 349818  Size: SH
  9. Install the fender to door hinge bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the door hinge bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the fender to upper cowl bracket bolt.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the upper cowl bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  13. Install the push-in retainers (2) in order to attach the wheelhouse panel (1) to the fender (3).
  14. Install the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .

  15. Object Number: 369708  Size: SH
  16. Connect the windshield washer hose to the clips on the fender.

  17. Object Number: 349786  Size: SH
  18. Connect the hood latch release cable to the clips.
  19. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .

  20. Object Number: 401869  Size: SH
  21. Install the wheelhouse panel bracket.
  22. Tighten
    Tighten the wheelhouse bracket nuts and bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).


    Object Number: 349812  Size: SH
  23. Install the left fender to cowl support brace.
  24. Tighten
    Tighten the cowl support brace bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  25. Install the left hood spring assembly.
  26. Tighten
    Tighten the hood spring bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  27. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .

  29. Install the left outboard cowl vent grille trim piece.
  30. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
