Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

    2. Object Number: 915018 Size: SH
  2. Remove upper I/P trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove the I/P inflator module connector from the I/P structure.
  4. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module nuts.
  5. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module.
  6. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 915018 Size: SH
  1. Install the inflatable restraint I/P module to the I/P.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the nuts to the inflatable restraint I/P module.

    3. Install the top nuts first then the lower ones second.

    Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  4. Secure the inflator module connector to the I/P structure.
  5. Install the upper I/P trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
