Battery Low Voltage Cutoff Module Wiring Harness Replacement 5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2

Caution: To help avoid personal injury, disable the 36V system anytime you perform service work on or around the generator battery carrier. The 36V system will still be active after you have disabled the generator battery carrier.

Caution: To help avoid personal injury, always disconnect the 36V generator battery carrier before doing any work to the generator battery carrier system. To disconnect the generator battery carrier, turn the engine off and turn OFF the service disconnect switch, which is located on the passenger side of the generator battery carrier.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator battery carrier intermediate cover. Refer to Battery Cover Replacement - Rear Seat .
  2. Note the routing of the internal signal harness for ease of reassembly.
  3. Disconnect the battery resistor electrical connectors.
  4. Disconnect the battery temperature sensor electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the generator battery control module. Refer to Generator Battery Control Module Replacement .
  6. Disconnect the generator battery carrier fan electrical connectors.
  7. Disconnect the battery cut-off switch electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the high current sensor electrical connector.
  9. Remove the ground wire screw.
  10. Disengage the retainers (1, 2) securing the harness.
  11. Remove the internal signal harness from the generator battery carrier.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1335918  Size: SH
  1. Position the internal signal harness to the generator battery carrier as noted earlier.
  2. Engage the retainers (1, 2) in order to secure the harness.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the ground wire screw.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Connect the high current sensor electrical connector.
  7. Connect the battery cut-off switch electrical connector.
  8. Connect the generator battery carrier fan electrical connectors.
  9. Install the generator battery control module. Refer to Generator Battery Control Module Replacement .
  10. Connect the battery temperature sensor electrical connectors.
  11. Connect the battery resistor electrical connectors.
  12. Install the generator battery carrier intermediate cover. Refer to Battery Cover Replacement - Rear Seat .
