Disassembly Procedure

    Object Number: 144189 Size: SH
  1. Remove the reverse idler gear shaft retainer.
  2. Remove the reverse idler gear.
  3. Remove the reverse idler shaft support collar.
  4. Remove the two O-rings.
  5. Remove the reverse idler gear bearing.

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 144189 Size: SH

    Important: When assembling the reverse idler gear, ensure the chamfer on the reverse idler gear shaft retainer and the reverse idler shaft support collar are facing up, toward the rear of the transmission, with the collar on the top.

  1. Install the reverse idler gear bearing on the idler shaft.
  2. Install the 2 O-rings.
  3. Install the reverse idler shaft support collar with chamfer end away from the bearing.

    4. Important: Ensure the groove on the reverse idler gear is towards the collar.

  4. Install the reverse idler gear with the groove side towards the collar.
  5. Install the reverse idler gear shaft retainer with the chamfer side towards the gear.
