Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 660474  Size: SH
  1. Remove the upper right valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Upper Right Side .
  2. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
  3. Important: Do not drop the injector harness bolts in the cylinder head oil return ports.

  4. Remove the injector harness bracket bolts for both injector harnesses.
  5. Loosen the encapsulated injector wire terminal nuts on each injector.
  6. Remove both injector harnesses.

  8. Remove the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts.
  9. Remove the lower valve rocker arm cover.
  10. Remove the gasket from the lower valve rocker arm cover.
  11. Inspect the lower valve rocker arm cover gasket for damage, replace if necessary. Otherwise reuse the old gasket.
  12. If required, clean and inspect the lower valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Cleaning and Inspection - Lower .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 660476  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower valve rocker arm cover gasket.
  2. Install the lower valve rocker arm cover.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 663902  Size: SH
  4. Install the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts. Start with bolts 1 and 2, they are used to position the cover.
  5. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the injector harnesses.
  7. Install the injector harness bracket bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  9. Tighten the encapsulated injector wire terminal nuts on each injector.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 2 N·m (17 lb in).

  11. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
  12. Install the right upper valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Upper Right Side .
