Did you perform the Lighting Diagnostic System Check?

Operate the cargo lamp to verify the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
2. Turn the courtesy lamps ON and then OFF using the headlamp and panel dimmer switch.
3. Turn the courtesy lamps ON and then OFF by opening and closing the driver door.

Do the courtesy lamps function properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

1. Turn the cargo lamp switch to the ON position.
2. Disconnect the cargo lamp.
3. Connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit of the cargo lamp and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 10

1. Ensure the cargo lamp switch is in the ON position.
2. Connect a test lamp between the cargo lamp low control circuit of the cargo lamp and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 6

1. Disconnect the cargo lamp switch.
2. Connect a fuse jumper wire between the cargo lamp low control circuit of the cargo lamp switch and the ground circuit of the cargo lamp switch.
3. Connect a test lamp between the cargo lamp low control circuit of the cargo lamp and a battery positive voltage circuit of the cargo lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 7

Connect a test lamp between the ground circuit of the cargo lamp switch and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the bulb(s). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Go to Step 13

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the Cargo lamp switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Go to Step 14

Repair the open in the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit between the inadvertent power relay and the cargo lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 15

Repair the open in the cargo lamp low control circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 15

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the cargo lamp switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 15

Replace the cargo lamp bulb(s).

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 15

Replace the cargo lamp switch. Refer to Fog Lamp and Cargo Lamp Switch Assembly Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 15

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
