Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Install a scan tool.
  3. Idle the engine.
  4. With the scan tool observe the Displayed Trans Oil Temp parameter in the IPC data list.

Does the Displayed Trans Oil Temp parameter match the transmission fluid temperature gage display?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. With the scan tool observe the Monitored Trans Oil Temp parameter in the IPC data list.
  2. Compare the Monitored Trans Oil Temp parameter to the Displayed Trans Oil Temp in the IPC data list

Does the scan tool indicate both parameters are approximately the same?

Go to Step 4

With the scan tool observe the Monitored Trans Fluid Temp parameter in the IPC data list.

Does the scan tool indicate the parameter is within the specified range?

38 to 130°C (100 to 265°F)

    •  Scan Tool Data List in Engine Controls - 6.6L

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
