Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 260095 Size: SH
  1. Remove air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical-4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L.
  3. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
  4. Remove the EGR pipe to intake manifold bolt.
  5. Remove the EGR pipe to exhaust manifold bolts.
  6. Remove the EGR pipe bolt (3) from the right cylinder head.
  7. Remove the EGR pipe (2).
  8. Remove and discard the EGR pipe gasket (4).
  9. Clean the EGR pipe mounting surfaces.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 260095 Size: SH
  1. Install a NEW EGR valve pipe gasket (4).
  2. Install the EGR pipe (2).

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the EGR pipe bolt (3) to the right cylinder head.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  4. Install the EGR pipe to exhaust manifold bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the EGR pipe to intake manifold bolt.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  6. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
  7. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical-4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L..
  8. Install air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement .
