Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve vent solenoid electrical connector (1).

  3. Object Number: 788886  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the EGR vent solenoid vacuum lines (1).

  5. Object Number: 788889  Size: SH
  6. Remove the EGR valve vent solenoid bolt (1) and the solenoid.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 788889  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the EGR valve vent solenoid and the bolt (1).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the EGR valve vent solenoid vacuum lines (1).

  4. Object Number: 788837  Size: SH
  5. Connect the EGR valve vent solenoid electrical connector (1).
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
