Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 788902  Size: SH
  1. Remove the lower fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove vacuum line from exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum pump.

  3. Object Number: 788903  Size: SH
  4. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.6L.
  5. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.6L.
  6. Remove EGR vacuum pump mounting nuts.

  8. Remove the EGR vacuum pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 788904  Size: SH
  1. Install the EGR vacuum pump.

  2. Object Number: 788903  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the EGR vacuum pump mounting bolts (1) .
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb in).

  5. Install the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.6L.
  6. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.6L.

  7. Object Number: 788902  Size: SH
  8. Install vacuum line to EGR vacuum pump.
  9. Install the lower fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
