For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
  2. Turn OFF the ignition.
  3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  4. Important: With the AIR BAG fuse removed and the ignition switch in the RUN position, The AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.

  5. Remove the AIR BAG Fuse from the fuse block.

  7. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (1) from the driver yellow 2-way connector (2) located at the base of the steering column.
  8. Disconnect the driver yellow 2-way connector (2) located at the base of the steering column.

  9. Object Number: 748421  Size: SH
  10. Access the IP module yellow 2-way connector (1) located behind the main IP support by opening the glove box and pressing in on the sides. This will allow the glove box to extend beyond the stops and to fully open. The IP module connector will be attached to the main IP support.
  11. Remove the CPA from the IP module yellow 2-way connector (1) located behind the IP support.
  12. Disconnect the IP module yellow 2-way connector (1) located behind the IP support.

  14. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the driver side air bag yellow 2-way connector (2) located under the driver seat.
  15. Disconnect the driver side air bag yellow 2-way connector (1) located under the driver seat.
  16. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the passenger side air bag yellow 2-way connector (2) located under the passenger seat.
  17. Disconnect the passenger side air bag yellow 2-way connector (1) located under the passenger seat.
