Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.

  4. Remove the mass air flow (MAF) sensor from the air cleaner outlet duct.

  5. Object Number: 444086  Size: SH
  6. Remove the air cleaner from the wheel housing by pulling upward until the serrated retaining pin releases from the mounting bracket. Continue rotating the air cleaner upwards until the air cleaner inlet duct is separated from the fender.

  7. Object Number: 444088  Size: SH
  8. Remove the air cleaner cover.

  9. Object Number: 444090  Size: SH
  10. Remove the air cleaner element.

  11. Object Number: 444093  Size: SH
  12. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner inlet duct.

  2. Object Number: 444090  Size: SH
  3. Install the air cleaner element.

  4. Object Number: 444088  Size: SH
  5. Install the air cleaner cover.

  6. Object Number: 444086  Size: SH
  7. Install the air cleaner to the wheel housing by aligning the tab on the intake duct with the wheel housing opening.
  8. Align the serrated pin with the mounting bracket and install by pushing down until the serrated pin is firmly seated in the bracket.

  9. Object Number: 451971  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  10. Install the MAF sensor to the air cleaner outlet duct.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 3-5 N·m (27-44 lb in.).

  12. Install the IAT sensor harness.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
