1986 FRENCH LABEL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 C/K, P, S/T Truck And G AND M Vans

Labels are pressure sensitive; therefore, surfaces must be clean, dry, warm, and free of contaminants, before labels are affixed. Labels must be pressed firmly over their entire surface.

Locate labels next to corresponding English labels, unless otherwise noted. Both labels must be readable.

Engine

1) Fan Caution Label

- If vehicle is equipped with an English label, place label 52350076 over it. Otherwise, place label adjacent to corresponding English embossed message on the fan shroud

- Place label 52355271 adjacent to English label.

2) Battery Labels

- Place label 52350963 over original such that replacement code in bottom RH corner is visible.

- Place label 52354601, 52354602, or 52354603, (whichever is appropriate), over original charge indicator label.

- If vehicle is equipped with auxiliary batteries (LH front corner of CK Truck, under driver seat on G-Van), locate additional labels as per above instructions.

3) Air Conditioner Compressor/Evaporator Labels --------------------------------------------

- Place label 744775C over the words 'Refrigerant Oil' Model No.9 , such that LH edge of overlay is even with the LH edge of silver portion of compressor label.

- Place label 744775A adjacent to corresponding English label on compressor.

- Place label 744775B adjacent to corresponding English label on evaporator.

4) Air cleaner Labels

- Place label 744678 over original label so tha code in top LH corner is not covered.

- If equipped with United air cleaner, place label 744675 adjacent to original label.

5) Oil Filter Label

- Place label 744750 or 746827 (Whichever is appropriate) on oil filter canister adjacent to original label.

6) Hood Prop Rod Label (S-T Truck, M-Van)

- Place label 52354520 over original English label.

7) Engine Oil Fill Cap Label

- Place label 52352671 over original English label on the oil fill cap.

8) Jack Instruction Labels (CK Truck)

- Place label 52354514 on RU wheelwell in engine compartment on flat visible location adjacent to corresponding English label.

9) Jack Assembly Label (CK Truck)

- Place label 746125 over English label on jack assembly.

Passenger Compartment

1) Transfer Case Shift Label

- With LH sunvisor in down position, remove the English transfer case shift level.

- If 'K' Truck, place label 52350175 on LH sunvisor in down position and locate label in centre of sunvisor.

- If 'T' Truck, place label 52352672 on LH sunvisor in down position, and locate label in centre of sunvisor.

2) Stereo Radio Front Speaker Tag (G Van)

- Place tag 744650 on RH knob of radio with wire provided.

3) Owner's Manual Reference Label ------------------------------

- Place label 745765A on trailing edge of driver's door in proximity to the certification label.

- If 'C, K, M, P, S, T' Truck, and equipped with camper option, place label 745765B on glove box door near the camper loading label 338601.

4) Clutch Type Torque Converter Label

- Place label 52354642 adjacent to corresponding English label on LH side door.

5) New Engine Origin Label

- Place label 746246 adjacent to corresponding English label for L25 engine on LH side door.

- Place label 52351461 adjacent to corresponding English label for LR1 engine on LH side door.

6) Dome Lamp Connector Plate Label (C, K Truck)

- If Jimmy, Blazer, with hardtop cap, place label 744677 over engraved message on connector plate located on cap pillar behind driver's seat.

7) Automatic Door Lock Label (G Van)

- If equipped with automatic door locks, place label 746279 on RH side rear and other label 746279 on RH rear corner.

8) Stereo Radio Rear Speaker Tags (G Van)

- Place tags 744649 on rear speaker wires, located on each side in rear of van. Place tags adjacent to original tags 469364.

9) Roof Rear Bolt Removal Label (CK Truck)

- If Jimmy/Blazer with hardtop cap, place label 746000 over corresponding English label at rear RH corner.

10) Jack Instruction Label (G Van)

- Place label 52354519 adjacent to corresponding English label on rear RH door edge.

- With option AQ4, place label 52354518 over bottom section of label 52354519.

11) Jack Assembly Label (G Van)

- Place label 746125 over English label On jack assembly.

12) Jack Instruction Label (S-T Truck)

- Place labels 523545161, 52352673, or 52352674, (whichever is appropriate), near corresponding English label located on cab panel, RH seat back, or jack cover.

13) Jack Assembly Label (S-T Truck)

- Place label 52351773 on side opposite to English label on jack assembly.

14) Shock Absorber Caution Label ('T' Truck only) ---------------------------------------------

- If vehicle is equipped with Option Z71, raise vehicle on a hoist and install labels 52353504 adjacent to the original English label on the shafts of each shock absorber.

15) Glovebox

- Remove and discard all literature or advertising for which a French equivalent does not exist.

16) Engine Cover Removal Label (K-Van)

- Place label 52354517 over existing English label in glove compartment area.

17) Jack Caution Label (M-Van)

- Place 52354513, adjacent to existing English label.

18) Jack Instruction Label (M-Van)

- Install 52354085 similarly to English label and adjacent to it.

19) Utility Vehicle Handling (ST Truck)

- Place label 52354648 adjacent to existing English label.

20) Commercial Trailering Label

- Place label 52355329, 52355330, or 52355331 adjacent to English label with corresponding weight.
