The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Glow plug control module loss of communication, possible DTC U0106 set, and DTC will not clear.
An internal problem with the glow plug controller may cause an intermittent DTC U0106 to set, and the technician is unable to clear it using the Tech 2.
Recommendation/Instructions:
An updated Glow Plug Control Module (GPCM) has been released for this repair. Use the current GMSPO part number to order the replacement module.
Replace the GPCM and evaluate repairs.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
