Memory Seat Feature Inoperative General

  1. Remove the driver power seat switch from side of seat.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multi-meter (DMM) measure the voltage on CKT 1440 (ORN) cavity A.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

11-14V

  1. Locate and repair the open in CKT 1440 (ORN) between the inoperative power switch and the seat circuit breaker (located in the left bussed electrical center).
  2. If no open is found, test the seat circuit breaker for proper operation refer to Circuit Protection - Circuit Breakers and Testing for Short to Ground in wiring systems.

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM measure the continuity on CKT 2350 (BLK) cavity A.

Is continuity present on CKT 2350?

--

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair open in CKT 2350 (BLK) between the driver power seat switch and ground G304.

Is the repair complete?

--

Replace the memory seat module and wiring harness. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement .

Also, the memory seat will operate in other positions.

Connect a J 39200 digital multi-meter (DMM) at the rearward tilt motor connector and measure the voltage while operating the rearward tilt switch.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

11-14V

Go to Step 2

  1. Using the appropriate probe from the J 35616 connector test adapter kit, backprobe the memory seat module with a J 39200 DMM.
  2. Measure the voltage on the YEL and LT BLU circuits while operating the rearward tilt seat switch.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

11-14V

Go to Step 4

  1. Replace the rearward tilt seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
  2. If the switch is functioning properly, replace the wiring harness.

Is the repair complete?

  2. Measure the voltage on the DK GRN and DK BLU circuits while operating the forward tilt seat switch.

Does the J 39200 DMM read within the specified range?

11-14V

  1. Replace the forward tilt seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
  2. If the switch is functioning properly, replace the wiring harness.

  2. Measure the voltage on the TAN and LT BLU circuits while operating the forward/rearward seat switch.

  1. Replace the forward/rearward seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
  2. If the switch is functioning properly, replace the wiring harness.
