  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Roll down the windows.
  3. Close all of the doors.
  4. Connect a scan tool.
  5. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  6. Using the scan tool, inspect for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Remove and inspect the MIR/LOCK fuse.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate and repair CKT 2140 (ORN), CKT 194 (WHT) or CKT 195 (LT BLU) wire for a short to ground.
  2. Replace the fuse.

Is the action complete?

--

System OK

--

Remove and inspect the DR LOCK fuse.

Is the fuse open?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate and repair the CKT 295 (GRY) or CKT 694 (TAN) wire for a short to ground.
  2. Replace the fuse.

Is the action complete?

--

System OK

  1. Re-install both of the fuses.
  2. Remove the lock relay.
  3. Using the J 35616-A adapter, connect a self powered test lamp from terminal 87A of the relay socket ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair the CKT 1850 (BLK) wire for a open to ground, G203.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

  1. Using the J 35616-A adapter, connect a fused jumper wire from terminal 30 to 87A of the relay socket.
  2. Depress the switch in order to the unlock position.

Do the doors unlock?

Go to Step 9

Replace the lock relay.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the unlock relay and the driver door unlock relay if equipped.

Is the repair complete?
