Was the instrument panel cluster (IPC) system check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the park switch connector (mounted at the base of the shift lever).
  3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  4. With a DMM measure the voltage between the DK GRN/WHT (1932) wire cavity A and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

7-13 volts

Go to Step 3

  1. With the scan tool select Instrument Panel Cluster, Inputs and monitor the Park Switch.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the DK GRN/WHT (1932) cavity A and BLK (1850) cavity B of the park switch.

Does the scan tool display the specified value?

Closed

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Backprobe the cluster connector with a DMM and measure the voltage between the DK GRN/WHT (1932) wire cavity A12 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

7-13 volts

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair the open DK GRN/WHT (1932) wire between the cluster and the park switch.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the park switch.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open BLK (1850) wire between the park switch and G203.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
