1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
2. Ensure the dome lamp override switch is in the OFF position.
3. Connect a scan tool.
4. Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Go to Step 2

Is the reading light the only lamp that does not light?

Go to Step 3

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

Remove and inspect the bulbs.

Are the bulbs okay?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Replace the bulbs as necessary.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

1. Disconnect the reading lamp connector.
2. Connect a test lamp from terminal A to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1732 (ORN) between reading lamp and mid bussed electrical center (MBEC).

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Connect a self powered lamp from terminal B to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Replace the reading lamp assembly. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1850 (BLK) between reading lamp and ground.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
