  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Connect a scan tool.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  4. Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Go to Step 2

Turn the park lamps ON.

Do the park lamps function properly?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Park Lamps Inoperative

  1. Ensure the panel dimmer is in the maximum position.
  2. Disconnect the switch with the inoperative lamp.
  3. Connect a test lamp from CKT 2409 (BRN) or CKT 8 (GRY) wire to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair the open in CKT 2409 (BRN) or CKT 8 (GRY) between the lamp and the fuse.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Connect a self powered test lamp from the following circuits to ground:

    • CKT 1050 (BLK)
    • CKT 1850 (BLK)
    • CKT 2450 (BLK)
    • CKT 2550 (BLK)

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Replace the switch or lamp as needed. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Locate and repair the open in the following circuits between the lamp and ground:

    • CKT 1050 (BLK)
    • CKT 1850 (BLK)
    • CKT 2450 (BLK)
    • CKT 2550 (BLK)

Is the repair complete?
