Was the instrument panel cluster (IPC) system check performed?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. With a scan tool select Instrument Panel Cluster, Special Functions, and Lamp Test .
3. Command the Trans Fluid Hot message ON

Does the Trans Fluid Hot message turn ON and OFF when commanded?

Go to Step 4

1. With a scan tool select Data Display, and Data.
2. Monitor the Displayed Trans Oil Temp, and the Monitored Trans Oil Temp.

Are the two values displayed equal?

Go to Functional Test for 4L60-E

or Functional Test for 4L80-E

Go to Step 4

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement

Is the repair complete?
