Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
2. With a scan tool select Instrument Panel Cluster, Data Display, and Data.
3. Read the Monitored Coolant Temperature.

Is the Monitored Coolant Temperature an accurate representation of the engine temperature?

Go to Temperature vs Resistance

With a scan tool select IPC, Special Functions, and command the Engine Overheated message ON.

Does the Engine Overheated message turn ON and OFF when commanded?

Go to Step 4

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement

Is the repair complete?
