There are no linkage adjustments. Replace the throttle cable with an identical replacement.

Check all linkages and cables in order to assure free movement, with no rubbing, chafing, or grinding.

The throttle must operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.

Observe the following when performing service on the accelerator control cable:

    • Install the retainer with the tangs secured over the head of the stud.
    • The conduit fitting, at both ends of the cable, must have the locking tangs expanded and locked into the attaching holes.
    • The braided portion of the cable must not come into contact with the front of dash sealer during replacement.
    • Do not route the flexible components (hoses, wires, conduit, etc.) must not be routed within 50 mm (2.0 inches) of the moving parts of the accelerator linkage, unless the routing is positively controlled.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the retainer locking tangs from the support bracket.
  2. Remove the retainer from the accelerator pedal rod or release cable.

  3. Object Number: 321247  Size: SH
  4. Remove the retainer locking tangs (1) from the dash panel (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 321247  Size: SH
  1. Install the retainer (1) to the dash panel (2).
  2. Install the retainer to the accelerator pedal rod or connect the cable in the rod slot.
  3. Install the retainer to the support bracket.
