Has the Automatic Day-Night Mirrors System Check been performed?

Go to Automatic Day-Night Mirrors System Check

1. Disconnect the connector (C1 if luxury) at the automatic day-night rear view mirror.
2. With the ignition in the RUN position, place the transmission in reverse.
3. Connect a test lamp from the automatic day-night rear view mirror connector (C1 if luxury) Cavity 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Connect a test lamp between Cavity C of C1 (A/T) or Cavity B (M/T) at the backup lamp switch connector to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the automatic day-night rear view mirror. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Automatic Day-Night Mirrors System Check

--

1. Check for an open in CKT 24 (LT GRN) between the backup lamp switch and Cavity 3 of the automatic day-night rear view mirror connector (C1 if luxury). Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.
2. If OK, replace the backup lamp switch.
3. Is the repair complete?

Go to Automatic Day-Night Mirrors System Check

Repair the open in CKT 24 (LT GRN) between the backup lamp switch and the IP fuse block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.
