Has the Defogger System Check been performed?

Go to Step 2

  1. Disconnect the Rear Window Defogger Connector.
  2. Connect a test light from Cavity A to Ground.
  3. Place the Ignition in the RUN position.
  4. Depress the Defogger button.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 3

Repeat Step 2.

Does the test lamp remain lit?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the connector C222 at the Convenience Center.
  2. Connect a test light from Cavity A of the Convenience Center to Ground.
  3. Depress the Defogger button.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in CKT 293 (PPL) between the Rear Window Defogger Grid and connector C222 at the Convenience Center.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the connector C1 at the HVAC Control Module.
  2. Connect a test light from terminal A to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 8

Connect a tst light between terminal A and D of Connector C1.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open in CKT 1440 (ORN) between the HVAC Control Module and the Underhood Fuse Block.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the HVAC Control Module.

Repair the open in CKT 293 (PPL) between the HVAC Control Module and the Convvenience Center.
