Preliminary Procedure

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Electrical Connector

Brake Pipes Retaining Clip

Brake Pipe Fitting (Qty: 6)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

  1. Before removing the brake pipes from the ABS module, clean all dirt and debris from the ABS module.
  2. Cap or plug the brake pipes to prevent contamination of the brake system and fluid leaks.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) Bracket Bolt (Qty: 3)

Tighten
20 N·m (15 lb ft)

EBCM Screw (Qty: 4)

Tighten
3 N·m (26 lb in)

Tip
Avoid brake fluid contact with electrical connectors and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) cavity. Wipe away brake fluid with a clean shop cloth prior to installing the EBCM.

Procedure

Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
