Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1870223 Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement.
  2. Push down the fuel level sensor pigtail electrical connector retainer (1) and remove the connector from the module cover.
  3. Remove the fuel level sensor pigtail wires from behind the retainer (2) on the bucket.

    4. Object Number: 1870224 Size: SH
  4. Push in the fuel level sensor retainer (1) on the bucket.

    5. Object Number: 1870225 Size: SH

    Important: Note the orientation of the fuel level sensor float during removal.

  5. Slide down the fuel level sensor and remove the sensor from the bucket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1870225 Size: SH
  1. Position the fuel level sensor to the bucket and slide the fuel level sensor up into position.

    2. Object Number: 1870224 Size: SH
  2. Ensure that the fuel level sensor is fully engaged by the retainer (1) on the bucket.

    3. Object Number: 1870223 Size: SH
  3. Install the fuel level sensor pigtail wires behind the retainer (2) on the bucket.
  4. Connect the fuel level sensor pigtail electrical connector to the module cover and ensure that the retainer (1) if fully engaged.
  5. Install the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement.
