Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 730907  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the harness electrical connector (2) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve (1).
  4. Disconnect the EVAP purge pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve.
  5. Disconnect the engine vacuum pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve.

  7. Remove the purge valve (2) from the purge valve mounting bracket.
  8. If replacing the purge valve bracket, remove the attaching bolt (1) and purge valve bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 730713  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. If replacing the purge bracket, install the purge valve bracket and the attaching bolt (1).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the purge valve mounting bracket attaching bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install purge valve (2) on to the purge valve mounting bracket.
  4. Connect the EVAP purge pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve.
  5. Connect the engine vacuum pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve.

  7. Connect the electrical harness connector (2) to the EVAP canister purge valve (1).
  8. Lower the vehicle.
