Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the liftgate window garnish molding. Refer to Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 749979  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the module as necessary.
  5. Remove the bolts that retain the module to the liftgate.
  6. Remove the module from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 749979  Size: SH
  1. Install the module to the liftgate.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts that retain the module to the liftgate.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connectors (3) as necessary.
  6. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Install the liftgate window garnish molding. Refer to Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  8. Reprogram the liftgate control module. Refer to Rear Body Control Module Programming .
