Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement Chevrolet

Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the steering wheel to the full down position.
  2. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel . Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  3. Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 712814  Size: SH
  5. Remove the screws retaining the bezel to the instrument panel.
  6. Remove the bezel from the instrument panel.
  7. If equipped, remove the transfer case shift control switch. Refer to Transfer Case Shift Control Switch Replacement in Transfer Case.
  8. Remove the rear wiper washer switch. Refer to Rear Window Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement in Wipers Washer Systems.
  9. If equipped, remove the cigar lighter or 12-volt power supply outlets. Refer to Cigar Lighter Receptacle or 12-Volt Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
  10. Remove the bezel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. If equipped, install the cigar lighter or 12-volt power supply outlets. Refer to Cigar Lighter Receptacle or 12-Volt Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
  2. Install the rear wiper washer switch. Refer to Rear Window Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement in Wipers Washer Systems.
  3. If equipped, install the transfer case shift control switch. Refer to Transfer Case Shift Control Switch Replacement in Transfer Case.
  4. Install the bezel to the instrument panel.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the screws retaining the bezel to the instrument panel.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  8. Install the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  9. Install the left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .

Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the steering wheel to the full down position.

  5. Remove the screws that retain the bezel to the instrument panel.
  6. Remove the bezel from the instrument panel.
