Was the Data Link Communications System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the scan tool from the Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Disconnect the electronic climate control  (ECC) module.
  4. Connect a DMM between cavity 2 of the DLC and cavity C11 of the ECC module.

Is there continuity present?

Go to Step 3

Replace the ECC. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Data Link Communications

Connect the DMM between cavity 2 of the DLC and cavity A of the Splice Pack  (SP201).

Is there continuity present?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 7

Connect the DMM between cavity A of SP201 and cavity L of SP201.

Is there continuity present?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 9

Connect the DMM between cavity L of SP201 and cavity C11 of the ECC.

Is there continuity present?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Data Link Communications

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair the open or cause of resistance in CKT 1132 (PPL) between the DLC and the SP201.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Data Link Communications

Locate and repair the open or cause of resistance in CKT 1038 (WHT) between SP201 and the ECC.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Data Link Communications

Replace the splice pack terminal.

Is the repair complete?
