Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 375322  Size: SH
  1. Remove the lower steering column trim cover. Refer to Trim Covers, Shift Lever Seal - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  2. Pull the shift lever seal away from the upper steering column trim cover.

  3. Remove the screw that retains the shift lever to the steering column.
  4. Remove the shift lever from the steering column.
  5. Remove the shift lever seal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the shift lever seal.
  2. Install the shift lever to the steering column.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screw that retains the shift lever to the steering column.
  4. Install the lower steering column trim cover. Refer to Trim Covers, Shift Lever Seal - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

    Tighten
    Tighten the shift lever retaining screw to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  5. Install the shift lever seal to the upper steering column trim cover.
  6. Install Trim cover to column. Refer to Trim Covers, Shift Lever Seal - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
