The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Note: This will only affect vehicles built between September 2007 thru February 2008.

Some customers may comment about one of the following electrical concerns. SES light, ABS/Service Stability indicator(s) illuminated, no start at times and/or several indicators illuminated on the IPC. Technician inspection with the Tech2 may reveal one or more of the following DTCs.

The list below are some of the common DTC's. More DTC may apply depending on which wire in the harness is damaged.

Powertrain DTC = P0320 P0442 P0443 P0446 P0449 P0451 P0452 P0453 P0454 P0455 P0496

Chassis DTC are = C0035 C0040 C0045 C0050 C0110 C0131 C0161 C0186 C0196 C0201 C0240 C0241 C0245 C0283 C0287 C0290 C0292 C0455 C0550 C0558 P0856 P1689

Loss Of Communication = U2100 U2105 U2107 U2108

Recommendation/Instructions:

Note: Again, this will only affect vehicles built between September 2007 thru February 2008.

  1. Locate AIR pump relay under the vehicle called out as number 1 above.

  2. Object Number: 2074462  Size: SH
  3. In front of the AIR pump relay , locate the section of conduit between the clip that is 5 inches (12.7 cm) away (called out as number 1 above) and the clip that is 10 inches (25.4cm) away (called out as number 2 above) from the AIR Pump relay. Carefully pull the plastic conduit off of the wires, and inspect the wires for any cuts / abrasion or possibly a resulting corrosion (due to a short or open circuit & water exposure)
  4. Repair any damaged wires as necessary.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
