Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lower closeout/insulator panel (GMC only). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement or Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

  3. Object Number: 718020  Size: SH
  4. Remove the 3 screws that retain the radio to the instrument panel (I/P).
  5. Partially remove the radio disengaging the radio rear alignment locator (1) to gain access to the electrical connectors.
  6. Disconnect the radio antenna cable.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the radio.
  8. Remove the radio from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 718020  Size: SH
  1. Position the radio to the I/P.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors to the radio.
  3. Connect the radio antenna cable to the radio.
  4. Position the radio rear alignment locator (1) into the I/P substrate.
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install the 3 screws that retain the radio to the I/P.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement or Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  9. Install the lower closeout/insulator panel (GMC only). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  10. If a replacement radio is installed, setup the radio. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems.
